Nestled in the heart of Athy, Insomnia Coffee Company invites you into a delightful café experience that balances a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a tantalizing menu of beverages and treats. Located at St. John’s Court in Edmund Rice Square, this café has become a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a perfect escape for coffee aficionados and casual patrons

.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by the friendly smiles of the staff, who are known for their excellent customer service—a sentiment echoed by many regulars. Jillian, one of the enthusiastic customers, praises the staff for their kindness, noting that “service always comes with a smile.” The ambiance strikes a lovely balance of cozy and modern, creating an inviting space whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying some peaceful alone time with your book.

The menu at Insomnia is a delightful array of hot and cold coffees, teas, and delectable treats. You can sip on everything from robust espressos to creamy Chai Lattes, which seem to be a favorite among customers. Barbara Kelly simply cannot get enough of this spot, highlighting it as an ideal location for meeting friends, complemented by the notable cleanliness of the premises.

However, it's worth noting some critique from customers regarding their food offerings. Ronan Moriarty has pointed out that while the pastries and sweet cakes are enjoyable, their sandwich selection leaves much to be desired, particularly in terms of size and filling. The recent supplier change has seemingly affected the quality of some menu items, and it is an area where Insomnia could improve to enhance the customer experience.

On the other hand, the café's atmosphere has been widely appreciated. Muhammed Cifci believes that while the ambience may not be on par with its Dublin counterparts, the cozy vibes and welcoming drinks spots make it a recommending choice over larger chains like Starbucks. It provides ample space with power sockets and Wi-Fi, making it a viable location for those needing to work while sipping on their favorite brews.

Insomnia Coffee Company in Athy stands as a beacon for those looking for a friendly, relaxed café experience. Whether you're there for a quick coffee, to enjoy a treat, or to catch up with friends, this café warmly welcomes you with open arms. The charm of its inviting service alongside the heartening atmosphere makes it more than just a coffee stop; it’s a place to make memories. If you're in the area, stopping by Insomnia could very well be one of the highlights of your visit.

Wonderful staff, so welcoming and friendly and always service with a smile. Great selection of hot and cold coffees and teas as well as a wide assortment of sandwiches, sweet treats and ice-cream. I particularly love their Chai Latte! Lovely chill atmosphere to enjoy a catch up with family or friends or some relaxing alone time. Recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Lovely clean premises with fantastic staff. The sweet cakes are nice but extremely overpriced for their size. However, worse than this is their sandwich/roll offering. They are extremely poor with very little filling inside - They changed supplier in the past year and since then their offering is very, very poor - not even a plain ham and cheese sandwich available for kids anymore. This issue is specific to Insomnia as a company however, rather than being specific to the Athy store.

Ireland's answer to "where's the nearest Costa" :-) The same food, drink, WiFi and power sockets. An ideal place to sit for an hour if you need to work when your away. Only problems "critical updates" when you've been offline for a week!

The ambience is mid-well compared to the Dublin centre ones'I' would recommend this Insomnia due to its cosy and welcoming drinks spots. Especially compared to a Starbucks.

My first visit. Staff were so lovely, it makes for a very pleasant experience when staff are so welcoming. Coffee was great too. Highly recommended. I've been back since and had a hot chocolate and a slice of lemon honey n bee pollen cake, n it was absolutely delicious!!! Third time I went there was no cake so I had a croissant. It's my weekly treat to myself now.

One of the nicest places for a coffee in the town hands down always a nice atmosphere and the staff are lovely! But what I will say is the two chairs outside to accommodate smokers is quite off putting especially if the Entrance doors are left opened on the warmer days as you can actually smell the cigarette smoke blowing in.
